The team at Spinta Studio shares passion and vision for yacht design and its role in the yachting industry of the future.
Better together is our fundamental principle. Sharing ideas and experiences to achieve something of higher value than that produced by only one mind. Our reward comes from solving design challenges over and over again and every time learn something more that will make things better than before, once again. To achieve this we seek perfection adopting the mindset of continuous self-critics, abstraction to the specific task and visualization of the project as a whole.
We also share our birth place: Naples. The place where we all learned to sail and since then we have been lucky to experience it at any level from Club Sailing to Offshore Racing and from Day Charters to Ocean Cruising.
These special bonds make our communication efficient and precise, our mutual understanding essential and unfiltered. Values we aim to reflect in our work.

Naval Architect & Founder
Vittorio was born in a family of seafarers and yachtsmen. International dinghy sailing wins and experiences in Olympic and highly technical sailboats, fired out Vittorio’s interest for the science behind sailing and performance. He then went on to complete a master’s degree with top grade from University of Naples and an MSc from University of Southampton in Naval Architecture. Before founding Spinta Studio in 2020, Vittorio was Senior Naval Architect for Hoek Design for seven years contributing to ground-breaking superyacht projects like Elfje, the J-Class Topaz and Svea, Meraki, the explorer MY Blue II among many others. In 2016, he moved to Mallorca to follow more closely the evolution of the racing J-Class fleet and other superyachts programs. Regular at most regattas and boat shows, Vittorio drives the team through continuous styling research and a genuine client focus.

With a double degree from the University of Southampton and Politecnico di Milano in Naval Architecture and Yacht Design, Gianandrea joined Spinta Studio in its early days in 2020. His desire to approach the yacht design career initiated during his childhood while racing dinghies at international level and cruising every corner of the Mediterranean Sea with the family boat. Before moving to Palma de Mallorca, he was Junior Designer for an Italian shipyard, where he learned the basics of high-performance full carbon sailing yachts. Gianandrea is the alternative thinker, always questioning the past and proactive in proposing innovative ideas. He is charmed by minimal, clean and essential designs. His goal is to find the balance between form and function through the most ambitious mix of naive creativity and scientific approach.

Lucio grew up on the smallest island of Naples archipelago experiencing the ocean from sailing to fishing since his very first steps. After graduating in Yacht Design at University of Genova, Lucio went on to work for a renown Italian carbon boat builder. During his six years’ experience he had the chance to contribute to any aspect of the semi-custom design and construction process. Lucio brings to Spinta Studio a wealth of experience in practical problem solving and ability to engineer the design into a smooth build process, especially for composite and carbon fibre yachts. He enjoys very much also the preliminary design stages where he participates with 3D modelling and rendering abilities. Careful observer, with a marked sensitivity towards faired lines and always looking for new insights that elevate the designer’s perspective to a more conscious level.

“We like design to be beyond fashionable modes and temporary fads. We like design to be as timeless as possible. We despise the culture of obsolescence. We feel the moral imperative of designing things that will last for a long time.”
— Massimo Vignelli
